Abir Sen, CEO
Prior to founding Bloom Health, Abir was the co-founder and President of RedBrick Health. Under his leadership, RedBrick Health launched the industry-leading Health Earnings system, created innovative product and distribution partnerships, and achieved health improvement results that far outstripped any of RedBrick Health's competitors.
Before co-founding RedBrick Health, Abir co-founded Definity Health and was part of the team that invented the Personal Care Account, the predecessor to the Health Savings Account. Abir has also worked as an advisor to Fidelity Investment's Health and Welfare Business, where he helped launch Fidelity's benefit consulting business. He began his career at Deloitte Consulting, where he advised large managed care organizations and integrated delivery systems on M&A and turnaround strategies.
Abir has a B.A. in Economics from Lawrence University and an M.B.A. from the Harvard Business School. Other than health care, Abir's interests include aviation, border collies and U2.
Jill Prevost, Product Development
Jill is responsible for product design and marketing activities.
Prior to starting Bloom, Jill led innovation and consumer engagement at RedBrick Health. She created a strong brand position based on consumer insights and market research and led the development and launch of several new web-based health programs establishing RedBrick Health as a leading innovator in this space.
Prior to RedBrick Health, Jill was a Marketing Manager at Life Time Fitness, where she led marketing efforts for the fitness and nutrition division, nationally. Before Lifetime Fitness, Jill was a Marketing Manager at Caribou Coffee where she created marketing and public relations programs for new store openings.
Jill has a B.A. in Business Management from Hamline University and an M.B.A. from the University of St. Thomas. In her spare time Jill enjoys competing in triathlons, running, and spending time with her family.
Marek Ciolko, Operations
Marek is responsible for all Bloom operations, including member service, employer service, platform management and vendor relationships.
Marek comes to Bloom from Best Buy Mobile, where he managed the implementation of a new e-commerce platform for retailing mobile phones online, and the development of a new business unit based on this new platform. Prior to Best Buy, Marek was a Director of Operations and one of the earliest employees at Red Brick Health, where he built company's service delivery operations from the ground up.
Before joining RedBrick Health, Marek was a Senior Manager at Deloitte where he spent 10 years working with Fortune 500 companies on developing and implementing their enterprise application strategies. In addition to client service, Marek was part of the leadership of Deloitte's regional Enterprise Applications practice and was responsible for knowledge development, staff mentoring and business development activities.
Marek has a B.A. in Economics and Computer Science from Macalester College. Marek is an enthusiastic traveler, and depending on the time of the year he and his wife can often be found skiing, scuba diving, or exploring the world's wine regions.
Mike Fortner, Sales
Mike is responsible for sales and distribution at Bloom Health, working with large and small employers, as well as brokers and consultants.
Mike's experience includes being a principal at Monterey Benefits, an employee benefits consulting firm, where he was voted by employers to the Top 5% Broker List. Prior to Bloom, Mike held leadership positions in sales at HealthEquity, the Stanton Group, and Great-West.
Mike has his MBA from the University of Minnesota's Carlson School of Management and serves on the Board of Directors of Love INC and Angelcar. In his free time, Mike enjoys spending time with his family and volunteering.
Ted Naleid, Engineering
Ted is responsible for the design, development and management of Bloom Health's technical architecture. This includes Bloom's consumer-facing websites, operations management applications and internal software systems.
Before Bloom Health, Ted was the lead developer and architect at Warm Health, where he directed the transition from a legacy healthcare management application to a Grails-based solution. Prior to Warm Health, he was a lead developer at Carol where he led teams in the creation of an online healthcare marketplace.
Ted is also an active contributor to the Groovy and Grails open source communities and is the author of a number of popular Grails plugins. Ted has a B.S. in Computer Science and Behavioral Psychology from Saint Cloud State University.
Sara Evans, Human Resources
Sara is responsible for recruiting and retaining the extraordinary team needed to achieve Bloom Health's mission. Sara brings a wealth of experience to the Bloom Health team having worked in a variety of executive level roles within industry-leading organizations.
Before joining Bloom Health, Sara was the Chief Talent Officer at RedBrick Health, where she oversaw all human resources functions, including organizational effectiveness, leadership development, talent relations and compensation/benefits. Prior to RedBrick, Sara was the Vice President of Human Resources at Spanlink and its spin off, Calabrio, Inc. She was also Vice President, Human Resources at Definity Health. Prior to Definity Health, Sara served as Global HR Generalist and Corporate Recruiter for Cargill.
