Frode Eilertsen
Frode Eilertsen directs the overall vision, strategy and business execution of Panraven. Driven by a passion to make technology optimally accessible and useful for people, Frode has spent the last decade in leadership positions at the intersection of technology, society and business.
Prior to founding Panraven, Frode was a venture capitalist at Flagship Ventures, where he invested in and helped build companies within digital media, broadband access and mobile communications.
Frode has also held positions within management consulting with the Boston Consulting Group, where he focused on the high technology sector, and he previously served as a military officer in the Norwegian Armed Forces.
Frode is a graduate of Harvard Business School. He studied electrical engineering at Dartmouth College and law at University of Oslo.
John Shumway
John directs operations, channel marketing and partnerships for Panraven. Over the course of his career, his passion for creating profitable new business lines, and experience in forging and managing strategic product and technology partnerships, have made him a significant contributor in the establishment of a number of new markets including: Service-based web analytics, Internet Content Distribution Networks (CDNs), IP geo-location, remote access, Ethernet switching, ATM and Frame relay switching, routing, voice messaging, and laser printing.
As VP/GM of Infrastructure Services and Technology Licensing at Akamai Technologies, John directed product management, marketing, business development, and sales in conceiving, developing and managing new, highly profitable revenue streams. Most recently, John founded and managed RevPath partners, an independent consulting firm whose client-partner lists includes Yahoo!, and WebTrends. John began his career in the Printing Systems Group at Xerox, and draws on this experience in his management of printing operations.
John has been a guest speaker at IBM’s Technology Institute, and MIT’s Sloan School of Business as well as numerous industry conferences. He is a graduate of Cornell University.
Hilary Mitchell
Hilary Mitchell oversees all aspects of design for Panraven. As a 3rd generation content creator, Hilary was born into a rich visual arts tradition, and brings 20 years of design experience to Panraven. Hilary's unusually broad expertise in visual communication and keen interest in web technologies provided a natural fit for interface and web design.
Hilary believes that key to great design is to get out of the user's way while enabling a rich experience. Hilary has worked with a diverse range of organizations, from non-profits to pharma consulting companies, where her commitment to clean, compelling design effectively delivered their message to broad audiences. She holds a B.A. in Fine Arts from Wesleyan University.
Alexander Tarasenko
Alex Tarasenko co-directs engineering and is responsible for the architecture and management of Panraven's services infrastructure. Alex has more than 15 years professional experience as an architect and team leader whose core expertise has been to rapidly convert high-level requirements into innovative, high-quality service deployments.
Prior to Panraven, Alex served as an engineering lead and architect at Xchange, Inc. (acquired by Amdocs, Inc.). He joined Xchange, Inc. when it was in its infancy and helped grow the company to a 500+ person organization. At Xchange, Alex led engineering and QA teams responsible for core software components, in the process pioneering advanced web services applications long before AJAX and Web2.0 became mainstream terms.
Earlier in his career, Alex worked as a database application consultant to large financial institutions and a lead developer at TaraSoft where he developed expert applications for the medical industry. Alex studied Computer Science at Northeastern University.
George Tarasenko
George Tarasenko directs engineering for Panraven. George brings with him almost 3 decades of technology and scientific leadership within mathematics and computer science.
Prior to Panraven, George founded Tarasoft, Inc. in Boston, MA, specializing in software development and consulting services. His clients were mainly high tech and financial companies, including MIT, Fidelity, Southern Bell, SPSS and others. In 1995 Tarasoft, Inc. released an expert system software for the medical industry that is still in use. Earlier in his career, George served as VP of Development at GenPro, Inc., a biotech company in Atlanta, GA.
Before his immigration to USA in 1984, George was a prominent research scientist and served on the Committee of Random Search at the USSR Academy of Science, and he has published several monographs and whitepapers on Stochastic Optimization.
George has a Master's degree in Mathematics from Latvian State University and a PhD in Mathematics from Institute of Cybernetics in Kiev, Ukraine.
W. Cecyl Hobbs
Cecyl is responsible for Panraven's financial strategy and operations and also supports business development and marketing activities.
He began his career at Deloitte & Touche in Chicago. Cecyl's background includes experience as a financial analyst with a middle market commercial lender, as an independent consultant for an early stage consumer-oriented events ticketing venture, and as a worldwide marketing manager for IBM. Most recently, Cecyl managed consulting teams in the Strategy & Operations practice of Deloitte Consulting, specializing in advising technology, media, and telecommunications companies on strategic and operational issues.
Cecyl earned a B.S. in Accounting, magna cum laude at Florida A&M University and an MBA at Harvard Business School.
