Industrial Designers
We're always looking to add new industrial designers to our team. If you dig what we're doing here at Quirky, send us your resume and portfolio!
VP Product Design
Inspired by an excited community with a never-ending flow of great ideas and driven by an amazing team and infrastructure, Quirky brings one great new product to life EACH WEEK. Scared? This job probably isn’t for you. Intrigued? Read on.
In order to ensure exceptionally high product and design quality as we grow, we’re looking for a rock star Industrial Designer with considerable leadership experience in Consumer Products, Branding, and Marketing. The perfect candidate is dozens of successful products beyond their start in an Art School model shop, but desires the creative rush that their early career provided.
Responsibilities include: managing/inspiring a young team of industrial designers/engineers; evaluating a weekly influx of new product and design ideas and carefully driving the selection process; providing final design direction on all products; creating a maintainable brand tie between dozens of unrelated products; working with partners/internal teams on manufacturing; and managing a demanding design and production schedule.
Specific skills: an unmatched ability to sense and identify potential; inspirational communicator and leader; respect and belief in a rapidly iterative design process; 7+ years of experience in Industrial Design (consultancy or brand); strong sketching abilities (hand and digital); SolidWorks and/or Rhino CAD modeling skills are a plus; intermediate to advanced skill level with Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop; familiarity with Hypershot; good creative problem solving and analytical thinking skills; ability to work independently as well as under tight creative direction.
Bookkeeping Wiz
Ready to learn new software, dig into a big pile of paperwork and keep our records organized? We need a superstar of a bookkeeper: someone who can crunch numbers like a pro, keep our files spiffed up and help with our general office needs. This is an entry level position and doesn’t require a ton of experience. But, the position does require lots of brain power and a track record of solid use of smarts and creativity.
Are you qualified to be our next bookkeeper? Find out. Take our quiz.
T/F I’ve got a knack for numbers. Dollars and cents, debits and credits, I like ‘em. I may not know every GAAP rule in the book, but I can often make a good guess at a journal entry.
T/F I’m great with Excel. I know all the basics of general office software. I’ve used accounting software. And, I learn new software by reading the help guide and poking around on my own.
T/F I’m super efficient and manage to always get the work done. I don’t need someone breathing down my back, giving me step-by-step instructions, or overseeing me at any level of detail. Throw it at me and I’ll figure it out.
T/F I want it done right. I can’t stand errors. I’ll develop a system for my work to ensure I recheck everything. And, I’ll come up with creative solutions.
If you answered True to all of these statements, apply! We will need to see your salary history and requirements. Your resume will be helpful, but a good (brief) cover letter will get our attention.

Quirky makes all sorts of products that it lets the visitors of its site help develop. The company often has some strange products but at times they are pretty cool as well. The latest product to come from the Quirky crowd is a new iPad case called the Cloak.
Â
Â
The Cloak is designed to support the iPad no matter what direction you want to watch it in. When in portrait mode you can flip an integrated stand down from the back to prop the iPad up. If you want to watch in landscape mode the flip back lid acts as a prop.
Quirky is taking pre-orders for the Cloak right now at $36 per case. There are 620 of the devices available and 34 of those have already been sold. Pre-orders for the iPad start this week so its time to order your case too.
