Ahmad Kiarostami
Co-Founder, CEO
Ahmad Kiarostami comes from a strong background in web technology, making his imprint with Microsoft Middle-East and serving for several national software standard committees. He developed a full-text search technology for Persian content, which was adopted by different products and online newspapers and used for his personal project, Persopedia, an online library of Persian poetry.
Ahmad has founded no less than three companies, including the first multimedia and online production venue in Iran. His passion and talent for cinema and the visual arts has remained at the forefront of his work, and he has served on the board of San Francisco Cinematheque, the oldest organization in North America promoting experimental cinema and video. One of his music videos, Eshgh-e Sor'at, is among the most viewed Iranian music videos on YouTube.
Ahmad studied Math and Computer Science at Sharif University and Philosophy at UCLA.
Jeannine Smith
VP of Operations
Jeannine brings more than 20 years of operation, engineeing, and networking experience to the company. Before joining Fotomoto, Jeannine Smith was Senior Vice President of Operations at Shutterfly, responsible for all strategic and operational facets of Shutterfly's manufacturing and global order fulfillment operations.
Prior to Shutterfly, Jeannine spent seven years at Silicon Graphics, where she worked as the principal engineer designing Internet-based video conferencing and professional film and video applications. Before SGI, Jeannine worked at a number of networking companies, including Ungermann-Bass and Protocol Engines, building routers and designing chips and protocols.
Jeannine earned her BS in electrical engineering from Stanford University. In her free time, she can be found motorcycling, mountain biking or hiking; and snapping photos of her three daughters with her Pentax Optio.
