Samuel W. Bartholomew, III CEO
As CEO and Co-founder, Mr. Bartholomew has led the development of PharmMD’s services and products with a team of clinical and IT experts. Mr. Bartholomew brings to this position a depth of expertise in healthcare. Prior to forming PharmMD, Mr. Bartholomew served as Vice President of Business Development for Integration Management, Inc. He also served as managing partner of Integration Ventures, LLC, a joint venture partner of Integration Management that worked to leverage healthcare data expertise and technology to improve employer healthcare costs and managed care company profitability. While managing strategic initiatives of IMI, Mr. Bartholomew also incubated a health advocacy company and a telemedicine physician access start-up. Mr. Bartholomew spent the four years with HCA in their Executive Development program where he helped build one of HCA’s newest facilities and then helped manage HCA’s oldest facility before leaving the company.
David Skelton Chief Financial Officer
PharmMD’s Chief Financial Officer, David Skelton, has 17 years of finance experience, including 8 years in healthcare. Most recently, Mr. Skelton served as the Chief Financial Officer for National Renal Alliance (NRA), a venture-backed dialysis services company that was successfully sold in December 2008. During his six-year tenure as CFO, Mr. Skelton secured $150 million in debt and equity commitments and helped grow NRA from inception to over $100 million in revenues with 45 clinics in 10 states. Additionally, Mr. Skelton’s background includes both commercial and investment banking with particular emphasis in mergers and acquisitions, private debt, and private equity. Prior to joining NRA, Mr. Skelton was a Principal of a mid-market investment bank that specializes in healthcare and served as the CFO of an audio-visual services company. Mr. Skelton graduated with honors from Vanderbilt University with an Economics major and earned his M.B.A. from Vanderbilt University’s Owen Graduate School of Management, where he finished in the top 5% of his class and was named the Wigginton Memorial Scholar in finance.
Brad Tice, PharmD, PMP, FAPhA Chief Clinical Officer
Brad Tice received his bachelor of science in pharmacy from the University of Kansas in 1994 and his doctor of pharmacy degree in 1996 and currently serves as chief clinical officer for PharmMD Solutions, LLC, a medication therapy management company in Brentwood, Tennessee where he is responsible for the integration of evidence-based medicine into PharmMD’s services and the delivery of PharmMD’s clinical services to patients. Dr. Tice has an extensive background in improving quality in community pharmacy practice. Upon graduation he began work in the community chain pharmacy environment with OscoDrug as a pharmacist in the Kansas City, Kansas metro area and then as pharmacy manager in Davenport, Iowa where his focus was on the implementation of enhanced patient care services in the pharmacy environment, starting with diabetes and general pharmaceutical care while at OscoDrug and then moving to Drake University as assistant professor and director of the Drake/OscoDrug Community Care Laboratory in 1998. He then move to the faculty at Drake University where he progressed to associate professor and focused on the development, implementation, and evaluation of enhanced generalist pharmacist services in the areas of hyperlipidemia, hypertension, diabetes, osteoporosis, asthma, and immunizations in both the Des Moines, Iowa and Chicago, Illinois metro markets.
Starting in 2006 with the inception of the Pharmacy Quality Alliance, he became active in the PQA serving as consultant to develop the initial environmental scan of quality measures specific to the starter set of measure categories, co-chair of the medication adherence cluster group and chair of the inappropriate medications subgroup, and now serving as co-chair of the Quality Metrics Workgroup.Dr. Tice is a recognized leader in the profession. He was recognized in 2002 as the Iowa Pharmacy Association Young Pharmacist of the Year, in 2005 with the Albert B. Prescott/GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) Leadership Award, and in 2008 as a fellow of the American Pharmacists Association and Health Care Hero by the Nashville Business Journal.
Denise Kehoe, MBA, PhC, RPh, FAPhA
Vice President of Business Development
As Vice President of Business Development, Denise Kehoe manages and oversees the expansion of the company’s growing base of clients across the country as a true advocate for the pharmacy profession. Kehoe brings more than 15 years of clinical pharmacy, research and operations experience to PharmMD. She recently served as national strategic executive of managed care sales and contracting for Walgreen’s after holding various positions with the company including regional vice president. Kehoe was responsible for over $10 billion of annual revenue through her contracts with plans throughout the country. Kehoe was also a regional clinical manager working directly with health plans on finding ways to provide quality clinical services. Kehoe worked with an endocrinologist as a shared faculty practitioner while working with a college of pharmacy. Kehoe’s unique designation as a pharmacist clinician allows additional health care services to be brought to patients in communities including immunizations. Prior to more than a decade with Walgreen’s managing pharmacies, Kehoe was a relief pharmacist at the University of New Mexico Hospital in Albuquerque, N.M, and a research assistant for the Los Alamos National Laboratories Human Genome Project conducted at the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center in Albuquerque.
