Rana K. Gupta Chief Executive Officer
Previous to joining HistoRx, Mr. Gupta was a Managing Director at Navigator Technology Ventures (NTV), the lead A Round investor in HistoRx. Prior to his position with NTV, he was Product Manager for Global Services with yet2.com, a B2B marketplace for technology transfer. Before that, Mr. Gupta founded IndoSine U.S. Link, Ltd., a business development company that helps clients to expand businesses in India, China, and the U.S. While at IndoSine, Mr. Gupta co-founded a wireless software company, International Solutions, for which he served as Vice President of Sales and Marketing. Previous to IndoSine, he served as Manager, PRC Investment Strategy for Zeneca Pharmaceuticals in China. Before joining Zeneca, he was Senior Consultant at Arthur D. Little, Inc. and served as a member of the start-up team for the company's Bangalore, India office. He holds an MBA in Finance and International Business from New York University's Stern School of Business, an MS in Operations Research from Stanford University, and a BA in Mathematics from Earlham College.
Kathleen Q. Adams, M.P.P.M. Vice President, Diagnostics Marketing
Kate Adams, VP Diagnostics Marketing at HistoRx, has 20 years of experience in healthcare marketing, business development and portfolio management with a significant focus on oncology. Prior to joining HistoRx, Kate was Marketing Director at Quest Diagnostics, where she led the research prioritization process and applied market-based insights into the company’s efforts to identify and evaluate new testing opportunities. As Director, Oncology & Specialty Markets she managed a team of five product managers responsible for $1B of the company’s revenues. While leading the company’s Hematopathology Growth Initiative she was responsible for identifying key components of the value proposition necessary for the company’s expansion in this high-margin specialty market. At Parke-Davis Kate was Associate Director of Business Development, responsible for the oncology, endocrine & metabolism portfolios, and led the market development team for the company’s first oncology product. Kate was a Product Manager at Schering-Plough Oncology Biotech (US), where she was responsible for Intron A® hepatitis marketing activities and was part of the market launch team for Temodar® in glioblastoma. In Global Marketing she launched an oncology product (Ethyol®) in fourteen EU countries. Kate began her career at Genetics Institute, now part of Wyeth, with a series of positions of increasing responsibility, all focused on product development and marketing of the company’s first proprietary oncology product. Kate holds a Master’s in Public and Private Management from the Yale School of Management, a Bachelor’s in Biology from Bryn Mawr College, and a Bachelor’s in Philosophy from Haverford College.
Richard Carroll, Ph. D. Vice President Clinical Research
Dr. Carroll has over 20 years experience in healthcare, focusing on diagnostics and life sciences. Before joining HistoRx, he was Vice President, Clinical Research for Cascade Medical, Inc., where he led clinical trials of FIBRINET® wound healing technology. Prior to Cascade, Dr. Carroll served as Vice President, Business Development for Millennium Biotech, Inc. and for Visible Genetics, Inc., where he was part of the team that achieved FDA clearance for the TruGene System. Earlier in his career, he was a Product Manager at Becton Dickinson and a Senior Research Scientist at Corning Medical, where he was the team leader for breast cancer diagnostic development. Dr. Carroll has 5 patents and numerous scientific publications. He has a PhD in Immunology/Microbiology from the State University of New York and a BS in Biology from LeMoyne College.
Wendy Davis Vice President of Diagnostic and IP Portfolio Management
Wendy has over 25 years of experience in biotechnology, research, business development and intellectual property. Insight into business development in biotechnology and intellectual property comes from experience as the Market Development Manager for Pharmaceuticals and Biotechnology for Praxair, Associate Director of the Division of Patents and Licensing at the University of South Florida, and Assistant Director, Corporate Development and Intellectual Property at Cytogen Corporation. Additionally, in the Intellectual Property Department at Curagen, Wendy was instrumental in the incorporation of the patent portfolio into project management, thereby focusing recourses on product opportunities. Prior to focusing on intellectual property, as a Senior Research Scientist, at Cytogen she resourced 50+ monoclonal antibodies from third parties and evaluated their suitability for human diagnostic and therapeutic products, leading to the FDA approvedOncoscint® and Prostoscint® in vivo diagnostic imaging agents for cancer. Wendy has a Bachelors in Biology from Swarthmore College and is a registered Patent Agent.
William C. Sullivan Senior Vice President Diagnostic Operations
Mr. Sullivan brings to HistoRx an accomplished management record, with more than 25 years of experience leading operations of technology-driven businesses in the in vitro diagnostics and medical devices industries. He was previously Vice President, Corporate Operations of Vermillion, Inc. (formerly Ciphergen Biosystems, Inc.); prior to that, he served as Vice President, Diagnostic Manufacturing at Visible Genetics and as Vice President, Operations at the Nichols Institute Diagnostics (a subsidiary of Quest Diagnostics), among positions with other diagnostics and medical device companies. Mr. Sullivan also served as a consultant to diagnostics and medical device companies, specializing in manufacturing operations for FDA-regulated facilities and products. He earned a B.A. from The College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts and pursued graduate studies in the Department of Pathology at the University of Pennsylvania.
