John Steinberg, CEO - Co-Founder
Prior to founding Eco Factor, John was Director of Corporate Business Development for Electronics for Imaging, where he had a leadership role in $500M in transactions. He was also founder and President of Bebop Incorporated, and co-founded Involved Professionals Against Cancer, a 501(c)(3) stressing hands-on involvement with pediatric cancer patients at Long Beach Memorial Hospital.
John is a graduate of Stanford Law School, where he was an Associate Editor of the Stanford Law Review. He received his undergraduate degree (with honors) from Oberlin College, where he majored in Economics and Government, and was Phi Beta Kappa.
John has been issued 12 US patents for inventions in such diverse fields as digital photography, networked printing, and various mechanical devices. He has served on the Board of Directors of Long Beach Youth Centers and the Board of Advisors of the Tech Coast Venture Network. John has been a featured speaker at multiple cleantech industry events, including the Behavior Energy and Climate Change Conference.
Scott Hublou, SVP of Products - Co-Founder Prior to Eco Factor, Scott’s most recent work has been as the head of the Sapria Design and Technology Group, a marketing services company specializing in product strategy for clients including BlueShield, Oracle, Peoplesoft, SAP, and HP.
Before heading Sapria, Scott founded Asimba, a SaaS based Internet-based weight-loss and fitness-provider solution. As CEO, he oversaw both general corporate operations as well as lead the marketing team for the initial 3 years, which included raising capital through partners including 24 Hour Fitness, Disney, and Powerbar. Under Scott’s leadership; Asimba received more than 16 product excellence awards, and was featured in multiple national publications and TV shows.
Leo Cheung, VP Engineering - Co-Founder Leo brought to Eco Factor over 20 years of hands-on experience in systems architecture and software engineering. He was most recently the principal consultant at Genuine Technology, providing a wide spectrum of software technology solutions, ranging from database-centric Web applications to enterprise-class secure messaging frameworks. Prior to Genuine Technology, Leo was CTO and cofounder of Asimba. He led building a cobrandable e-Service platform that allows partners like Disney's go.com and 24HourFitness to offer their customers personalized fitness programs. Before Asimba, he was the Systems Architect with an online couponing startup, planetU, responsible for scaling its applications to handle high-volume coupon transactions for retailers such as Kroger. During the early 90's before the Internet was widely commercialized, Leo was a pioneering technologist, building Internet technology infrastructure and 1st-generation e-Commerce systems. As the Technical Director at DBM Group, the e-Service arm of Bozell Worldwide, Leo was in charge of building an e-Commerce system by customizing beta products from Netscape and First Data Corp. Leo graduated from Virginia Tech with a MS in Mathematics.
Eric Saltzman, COO Eric joins Eco Factor with over 20 years of experience working with both private and public technology companies. Eric was most recently CFO and Executive VP, Corporate Development at PSS Systems, Inc., where he strengthened the company’s financial position by raising capital, managing expenses and working with the sales team to close business with Fortune 500 and Global 1,000 companies.
Before joining PSS, Eric held CFO positions at Vendavo, Qualys, and TimesTen, and was CFO/COO of Cygent. His tenure at Qualys, a leading provider of on-demand vulnerability management and policy compliance solutions, provided significant experience in managing a rapidly growing SaaS business. Prior to these positions, Eric was CFO at Electronics for Imaging, Inc., a public company, where he also held additional executive roles and helped lead the company through a six-year period during which revenue increased from $89 million to $570 million and the company achieved a peak market capitalization of over $3 billion. Eric holds a J.D. from Stanford University Law School and a B.A. from Swarthmore College.
