John Fox, Chief Executive Officer John Fox is ElectraTherm's Chief Executive Officer. He joins the team from United Technologies Corporation's Pratt & Whitney Power Systems Division, where he was Director and General Manager of the Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) Business. John's management of the PureCycle program drove the ORC technology from the development phase through to successful commercialization. John spent 19 years at United Technologies, with his early career focused on engineering and product development at Pratt & Whitney's aircraft engine division. Since 2004, John managed the launch of the PureCycle® and PureComfort® product lines for the renewable energy and on-site power generation markets. Most recently, John was Director & General Manager, responsible for all aspects of Organic Rankine Cycle Business and the PureCycle product line.
Stephen R. Olson, President and Chief Financial Officer Stephen R. Olson is the President and Chief Financial Officer for ElectraTherm. He joined the team after spending seven years serving institutional investors and technology companies at two San Francisco investment banks, followed by founding/operating roles at two startups. Steve spent five years as a Research Analyst at Volpe, Brown, Whelan & Co., covering communications and information services companies. Following that, he was a Partner and Senior Analyst at Pacific Growth Equities, LLC. In 2003, Steve co-founded and served as CFO and West Coast Operations Manager of Satisfactions Services, a retail services company. In 2005, he founded and served as the General Manager of a real estate investment company. Steve earned a Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, an MBA at the Thunderbird School of Global Management, and has been a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) since 1996.
Robert R. Emrich II, Senior Vice President, Sales Robert R. Emrich is the Senior Vice President of Sales for ElectraTherm. Rob previously worked at Western Nevada Supply, a leader in the pipe, valve and fittings industry where he led the branch sales team for 15 locations, in addition to driving the company’s industrial product line. Previous experience in the pump market led Rob to work with mines and power plants in Colorado and Nevada. Following a tour of duty in the United States Marine Corp, Rob’s career began in the livestock feed industry in his home state of Nebraska. He went on to purchase the company and manage it for five years, sparking his interest in business leadership.
Robert C. Hoover II, Vice President, Channel Programs Robert C. Hoover is a founder and Vice President of Channel Programs for ElectraTherm., Immediately following college, Rob turned a bankrupt production and delivery services company 20 percentage points in three years to profitability, tripling its sales, and selling it in 1981 to an AMEX listed acquirer. Since then, he founded and built three profitable companies. In 1982, he and a partner built and sold a successful direct marketing company before launching Hoover & Associates, a Silicon Valley Marketing Services firm positioned to develop and manage database driven marketing communications programs for Sun Microsystems and other Bay Area high tech companies. In 1996, Rob co-founded the Players West Women's Professional Golf Tour, and helped launch a San Francisco energy company which sold and installed residential and commercial solar PV systems. Rob earned a Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of Southern California
Pat Langhoff, Vice President of Operations Pat Langhoff is ElectraTherm's Vice President of Operations. He joined ElectraTherm after 25 years as an operations executive and management consultant in both manufacturing and logistics. He has worked in a wide variety of business situations with companies including TRW, Textron, BMW and Valeo. He brings an expertise in start up operations and turnaround management that he has developed managing operations throughout the US, Mexico, Canada and Europe.

William C. Olson, Vice President, Business Development William C. Olson is a founder, board member, and Vice President of Business Development for ElectraTherm. An entrepreneur for 28 years, Bill started his career with Northern California Thoroughbred Racing. In 1982, he and a partner built and sold a successful direct marketing company before launching Hoover & Associates, a Silicon Valley marketing services firm positioned to develop and manage database driven marketing communications programs for Sun Microsystems and other Bay Area high tech companies. In 1996, William owned and operated the Players West Women's Professional Golf Tour, conducting over 125 professional golf tournaments in 6 western states, placing over 80 players on the LPGA Tour. In 2001, he helped launch a San Francisco energy company which sold and installed residential and commercial solar PV systems, giving him hands-on understanding of distributed energy and CHP on the path that led to ElectraTherm. William earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Philosophy from Loyola Marymount University.
Hans Wain, Vice President, Product Development Hans Wain is the Vice President of Operations for ElectraTherm, and brings nearly 30 years of experience in business development and management to the team. Following graduation at University of California, Davis, he played professional soccer in Portsmouth, England. He went on to design and engineer outdoor equipment products and served as head of product development and eventually became President of a leading global tent and backpack manufacturer. His eye for design and development led to the creation of innovative products, such as a gravity-powered water filtration system currently available in major sporting goods stores under the Sawyer products brand. In 2000, Hans co-founded Offroute, Inc., a pioneering company in Web based, print -on-demand mapping and e-commerce, where he has served as President and CEO.
Richard K. Langson, Founder Richard K. Langson is the inventor and founder of ElectraTherm. His passion throughout his career was drag racing, and in 1993 Richard earned the title of the Top Fuel World Champion. After retiring from racing, Richard spearheaded new projects and business development for a large cogeneration company before founding Vector Cogen, LLC to fill a niche market in the residential and light commercial (5 kW-65 kW) marketplace. Technical innovations included annual oil change systems, a series of "clean burn" natural gas engines, high tech control systems and state-of-the-art heat exchangers.

Frank R. Phillips, Production and Materials Manager Frank Phillips is the Production and Materials Manager for ElectraTherm. Most recently, he managed purchasing and materials for AMF Inc.’s multimillion dollar sheet metal facility in Reno, Nevada. Other career achievements include establishing a hard tool production stamping facility and relocating a plastic injection molding plant in Beijing, China. Frank has 25 years experience and training in process improvement and computer automated design as well as being a Tool & Die maker. He is a graduate of Rapport Leadership International, has undergone communications training at Nevada Small Business Development Center, and served in the United States Marine Corps and was honorably discharged at the rank of Sergeant.
Greg Melvin, Field Service Manager Greg Melvin is the Field Service Manager for ElectraTherm. He comes from Pratt and Whitney Power Systems, where he was responsible for the service and installation of the company’s “pure cycle” geothermal power plants. Previously, he worked as an electrical technician in the printing industry, as well as construction and repair with leading drilling technology companies. Greg has more than 20 years of experience in the electrical engineering field.
Celeste Dodge, Corporate Communications Manager Celeste Dodge is the Corporate Communications Manager at ElectraTherm. She joins the team from Ormat Technologies, one of the largest geothermal developers in the world, where she managed international public relations for the company. Previously, Celeste worked for the Economic Development Authority of Western Nevada doing local and national media campaigns to generate positive coverage on the local economic community in Northern Nevada. She also has experience working for one of the leading high tech public relations firms in the country, located in Boston, Massachusetts. Celeste has Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from Tufts University, and a Master of Science in Television Production from Boston University.
Professor Ian K. Smith, ElectraTherm Partner Professor Ian K. Smith graduated with a degree in mechanical engineering at the University of Cape Town. Subsequently, he attended Imperial College, London, where he earned a Diploma in Gas Turbine Technology, followed by a PhD, before spending three years in industry working on aircraft gas turbine development. He then joined the staff of City University, as a lecturer, and as a result of successive promotions, he became Professor of Applied Thermodynamics. In 1995, together with Professor Nikola Stosic, he established the Centre for Positive Displacement Compressor Technology, of which he’s now the director. ElectraTherm and the City University of London's Centre for Positive Displacement Technology, recognized worldwide as a premier research lab for compressor technology, have partnered for over three years with the goal of commercializing the use of screw expanders for power generation.
Professor Nikola Stosic, ElectraTherm Partner Professor Nikola Stosic graduated with a degree in mechanical engineering at the University of Sarajevo. He then obtained an MSc at the University of Zagreb, followed by a doctorate at the University of Sarajevo where he continued as a member of the staff. As a result of the war in former Yugoslavia, he took a research appointment at City University in 1992 to investigate the performance of two-phase expanders. This work led to his appointment as Royal Academy of Engineering professor of Positive Displacement Compressor Technology at City University in 1995 where he established the Centre for Positive Displacement Compressor Technology with Professor Smith. In 1998, Professor Stosic was awarded the Institute of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) Bernard Hall Prize, and in 2005, received the highly prestigious James Clayton Prize by the IMechE for his "Outstanding contribution…to the application of twin screw machines to the compressed air, refrigeration and power generation industries." ElectraTherm and the City University of London's Centre for Positive Displacement Technology have partnered for over three years with the goal of commercializing the use of screw expanders for power generation.
Professor Ahmed Kovacevic, ElectraTherm Partner Ahmed Kovacevic graduated from the University of Sarajevo with a Dipl Ing in 1986 and was awarded the MSc degrees by the University of Tuzla in 1997. Following the research work in CFD for positive displacement compressors, he earned his PhD at City University in London in 2002. In June 1998, he took up the post of research fellow at City University London in the Centre for Positive Displacement Compressor Technology. Since then, his main research interest has been in the numerical modeling of 3-dimensional flows through twin screw machines. In addition, Dr. Kovacevic is responsible for the design of compressors and expanders for a wide variety of industrial applications and for data acquisition and performance analysis of all positive displacement machinery built and tested in the university laboratories. ElectraTherm and the City University of London's Centre for Positive Displacement Technology have partnered for over three years with the goal of commercializing the use of screw expanders for power generation.
